According to the weekly report from the Prices and Markets Observatory of the Andalusian Council of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Sustainable Development corresponding to week 5 of 2021, Andalusian strawberry prices continue to fall. Meanwhile, the upward trend of raspberry prices has been slightly reversed, although they are still more expensive than in the two previous seasons. As for blueberry prices, despite a rebound in week 5, they remain below those reached in the two previous seasons.
Strawberries In the case of strawberries, average prices at origin in week 5 dropped by 5.6% compared to week 4 and stand at 2.19 Euro per kilo. This is slightly more than the price reached in the 2018/2019 campaign (2.14 Euro per kilo) and less than in the 2019/20 campaign (2.53 Euro per kilo). It's estimated that since the beginning of the 2020/2021 campaign, around 6.2% of the season's total expected volume has already been marketed.
Raspberries The price at origin of raspberries in week 5 is down by 9.8% compared to the previous week and stands at 7.01 Euro per kilo. This week's price is still higher than those registered in previous campaigns. Specifically, it is 2.7% and 23.3% higher than those of the 2019/2020 and 2018/2019 campaigns, respectively (6.83 Euro per kilo in the 2019/2020 campaign and 5.69 Euro per kilo in the previous one). It's estimated that since the beginning of the 2020/2021 campaign, around 22.1% of the season's total expected production has already been marketed.
Blueberries After the contraction of the average prices of blueberries in the previous week, in week 5 they rose by 7.9%, reaching 6.00 Euro per kilo. This is 16.7% and 8.1% lower than those of the 2019/2020 and 2018/2019 campaigns, respectively, (7.20 Euro per kilo in the 2019/2020 campaign and 6.53 Euro per kilo in the previous one).
